His play style does not allow for jumping up and down yelling when he wins a big hand, and also does not allow for getting angry and whining when he takes a tough beat. With these characteristics and his vast poker intellect it is very easy to see why Phil is so respected and well liked in the poker world. 2005 was a great year for “The Tiger Woods of Poker”, he took home 5 bracelets and was close to taking home player of the year honors. Eight million dollars is roughly what Phil Has taken home to this point, and he will surely take home quite a bit more.

3. Howard Lederer. “The Professor” has eastablished himself as one of the great poker minds of this age. The nickname “The Professor” originated from Howard’s PhD in linguistics. The nickname also gathered steam from Howard’s ability to analyze multiple different outcomes of a hand in a very, very short amount of time. With an established reputation as one of the most feared cash game players Howard turned his focus to tournaments in the year 2002. Since that point players have dreaded sharing a tournament table with “The Professor”. He is one of the most well liked and respected poker players in the game today.
