How To Promote Affiliate’s Products

by Stu McLaren

Do you have business questions that are stopping you from really progressing within your market? I know as my business grew I came across road blocks, big and small, that sometimes would put me behind schedule or just stump me. In this article I will answer two of those questions on affiliate marketing.

Lets start with the first question:

What is the best way to promote that you are an affiliate of?

When promoting someone else’s products as an affiliate you are left with multiple different options as how you want to do it. Some options that are effective would be to use teleseminars, or using videos. A solo email campaign can be very effective as well. As you can see there are many different options to promote.

To have the best impact or response, my advice is to look to use your teleseminars because they are more intimate, people have more interaction, and it gives you the ability to really create, really build up the value of the product itself. So I like teleseminars, I also like video. I use video a lot to promote other people’s products.

Another thing you might want to think about is sticking to promoting products that you have bought, used or received value from yourself. I make sure I do this only because that is the only way I would be able to give my evaluation and honest opinion of the product.

It makes it difficult to promote a product if I haven’t bought, even seen or received any value from. If you try and do this it can really put you in an awkward situation if you are recommending a product you haven’t even used. In my own business I make sure that I have either bought it, used it or benefited from the products I am promoting myself. I would encourage you to do the same because it is much easier and more convincing during your promotion because you can take it from the position as, “This is how I used this product, and the results I got from it. This is how I think it can benefit your business.” That pitch is much more convincing then only being able to say, “Heard about this product, I think you should go get it.”

There are a lot of different ways you can promote your affiliate products, finding what you like best and tracking your results using different methods will help you find what will work best.

Second question:

When someone has an attractive list for what you are trying to sell, what would be a good percentage to offer that person?

This would vary and depend on your situation. Naturally, the more you are able to offer your affiliates and JV partners, the more it will work as an incentive to drive them to promote more. You have to remember to look at your situation though and how much you can afford to give away. Look at the product cost, time cost and things of that nature to figure it out and it may not be huge amounts every time.

My advice to you there, sit down and think through how much you can afford to give away and then look to maximize that as much as possible because the bigger commission, the more interest you will gain from JV partners and affiliates.
