As you will soon discover there a many different types of organic toys that one can choose from which their baby will enjoy. Most of these are either made from wood or from natural fabrics such as cotton. Plus as you will soon discover compared to the much cheaper commercially made toys these ones are devoid of any chemicals and because babies like to put things in their mouths the chances of them absorbing harmful substances is greatly reduced.

When looking to buy any kinds of organic baby toys for your child there are certain requirements that need to be met for them to be classed as such. Below we take you through some of these requirements that should hopefully help you when it comes to finding out whether the toy you want to purchase is an organic one or not.

If you are thinking of buying them a wooden toy then be wary if the description of the product says that it is natural. Although it may be made from wood the toy itself may not be organic, as chemicals have been used on it in order to bleach it so that it retains its natural look.

This is a reason why you should read the label or the box in which the toy comes very carefully. Look instead for wooden toys which not only have been made using sustainable wood but which have been made using only natural processes. This will then help to ensure that the toy at no stage during its manufacture will have come into contact with chemicals that can be harmful to your child as well as the environment.

Also when reading the labels if the toy is highly decorated look closely at the kind of paints that have been used on it. Ideally your toys label should read lead free paint has been used. This will then tell you that the paint to decorate the toy is made from natural ingredients and colors only.

Although the cotton material on your child’s soft toy may be organic it is important that you find out what stuffing has been used inside it. There are some stuffing materials that could be hazardous to your child’s health, as they have been made using chemicals, which can be absorbed through the material covering them into your child’s skin. Ideally look for those toys that have been made using all natural cotton in them.

A great way of finding out more on how to distinguish organic baby toys from non-organic toys is by going online. There are plenty of sites that now offer practical advice and information as well as details of where such toys can be purchased from. This is also the ideal place for purchasing toys from as well.
