Do I Need A Reason For Vegetarianism
Many people choose to live their life entirely without any animal products. They choose a vegetarian diet that will fill all of their nutritional needs and keep them healthy and strong. What are some of the reasons for vegetarianism that these people generally give for their lifestyle?
There are several reasons why individuals choose a vegetarian way of life, but the health benefits seem to be predominant among them. Hormones and drugs in cattle are commonplace, therefore, they’re in your steak too. E-coli outbreaks and mad cow disease seem to be daily headlines. Obviously, these are significant points to think about when giving up beef, other meats and animal products.
The vegetarian diet is completely healthy and if planned right it can offer all of the benefits of a diet that contains meat and animal products. Most people eat meat simply because they have always done so. They have never considered that the meat in their diet can be easily replaced with several tasty options.
Animal cruelty is another reason that people give to explain their vegetarian life. The way that meat is processed and obtained in our technologically advanced world leaves a lot to be desired. The production of meat, and that is exactly what it is, would make the biggest fan of meat products wince and vow to never touch another bite. The problem is that many people are unaware of what is done to provide the meat that is eaten every day.
Any true humanitarian or animal-lover cannot condone the awful treatment that animals are given just to provide us with food to eat. Vegetarians are people who choose to eat healthily and without being a part of the slaughtering of millions of animals for the production of meat each year.
Many people believe further that the human animal is not meant to be carnivorous. They feel that if the design of our teeth and internal digestive system were looked at closely we would discover that we are designed to be herbivores only.
If one really tries to look critically at it, being a vegetarian actually is saving the environment. One cannot imagine a lot of people are still being ignorant about the dire environmental problems brought about by the massive greenhouse gas emissions of vast steer farms world over. Meat production is actually one massive venture. Not just hundreds, but millions of cattle are raised in unimaginably thousands of acres of lands. In fact, there can be no other entity that is particularly responsible for more carbon emissions to the atmosphere than cattle. If the call of the times is to protect the Earth from the destructive effects of global warming, then there can be no other most potent thing one person can possibly do to substantially help the environment than to live a healthy vegetarian lifestyle.
