5 Tips on How to Lose 10% Body Fat Now

1. Put an end to unhealthy snacking. Do this by keeping yourself busy during those times you know you want to snack like mid afternoon. Take your mind off food by doing things like exercising, walking or doing something you enjoy.

2. Slow and steady wins the race - you didn’t gain the weight overnight, so take your time to lose it. It really is about making lifestyle change, not just going on a diet.

3. Try hitting the books. Reading up on health and fitness is the best way to stay motivated. It’s good to know that what you’re doing is useful, rather than just performing a thousand sit ups without much thought as to why! And always consult a doctor to keep a check on your health.

4. As your fitness improves, your body becomes more efficient, meaning you expend less energy in a 30 minute run than when you first started. So you’ve got to shake things up a bit. Play with intensity of what you’re doing, and if you can, change your routine. For example, if you walk regularly, try breaking it up with spurts of jogging, or add hills and stairs to your daily walk. Switching intensity will challenge you more than just staying at the same pace. As well as increasing your likelihood of losing weight, you’re most likely to stay motivated if you participate in a range of activities. So, instead of running four times a week, why not cycle, do some laps at your local pool or play a game of tennis!

5. Fat loss is never easy - expect your ‘highs and lows’, but never look back. Nothing is ever perfect. All it takes is - learn from it and move on. If you do, you will benefit more from it. It’s a great feeling when you can overcome an obstacle, and the next time you face it - you’ll know what to expect and conquer it. Life is always about experiencing it and living it.
