One of the very best ways of doing business on the Internet is making affiliate marketing sales. If you do it right, it couldn’t be easier than making a sale and collecting the commission check.
You don’t have to worry yourself with all the issues of customer service while running a business. Forget giving refunds to customers for returned products and having to deal with developing new products to sell to the market. It’s just affiliate marketing sales and that’s it. Let other’s worry about everything else, while you cash your checks.
But of course there’s always the downside with anything, including making affiliate marketing sales. One being that it’s not your product and you have no control of how it’s sold and for what price. There are boatloads of programs out there, so you have the option of being choosy. Be smart and pick ones that will be best for you. Some thoughts to consider are:
A: Are they going to fairly compensate you for your affiliate marketing sales? Just pass by any program that’s not willing to payout at least 50% of the sale. Just think you are really doing all the work to drive qualified traffic to their site. They don’t have to do much to get the sale once everything is in place. All that hard work on your part deserves a fair commission.
You should be treated fairly and paid accordingly. When dealing with most reputable affiliate programs, the pay out is at least 50/50 and higher.
B: You only want to deal with programs that are consistent in paying their affiliates when they say they will. Preferably once a month or better yet twice a month.
Affiliates must be aware of the minimum requirements to getting paid. If you have to meet unrealistic minimums month after month to get a paycheck, it just isn’t worth it. Most great Internet affiliate marketing programs have low or no minimums on your affiliate marketing sales.
So if you don’t think you can consistently meet their requirements, pass it up and look for another program. It doesn’t make sense to make some sales and never see that commission because of these rules.
C: How’s their customer service?
You are representing a company when you market their products. Your reputation is on the line and what they do is a reflection on you. Make sure they represent you well.
I suggest you become a customer of the company you want to represent. Buy one of their products and evaluate the whole selling process. See how the transaction went and if the product is really all that they make it up to be. Then go ahead and return it and see how they treat you. If you want to really market this product with confidence and some passion, then this is a must do.
2-Build an opt in mailing list
If you build your own list, you will really be able to consistently make more affiliate marketing sales.
Why do I say that?

If you can learn to build a list successfully and cultivate trust and loyalty with your subscribers, you’ll experience many affiliate marketing sales on a regular basis.
Of course there’s too much to discuss on this subject, so just learn and do, so you can successfully bring in affiliate marketing sales for your business. Here’s a brief summary of building a list.
A: Write or have written quality information in the form of a report or mini-course. If it is on a hot topic or solves a lot of peoples problems, people will want to know about it
B: Make a subscriber sign up page, so they can receive your information in exchange for their name and email address.
C: Build trust and loyalty by continuing to provide relevant useful information through your newsletter or ezine.
D: Have the intent of continually helping those on your list. Give then content they can use and also mix in offers to your list. As your prospects learn to trust you, they will feel comfortable buying from you when you send them recommendations for products and services.
3- Ask the affiliate program for a better piece of the profit.
As you are able to make consistent affiliate marketing sales, go ahead and contact the merchant to see if he or she can give you more of the profit from the sales of the product. I’m sure they want to keep you making them money, so they will consider it.
